brown bear, brown bear where are you

You didn't send out a search party, did you?  As we left San Francisco, we realized that our GPS had broken down.  JB, reliable as always, got us safely to the Yosemite National Park.  We have had irregular internet as the places we've been to have been rather remote and satellite internet is slow and impossible for uploading photos.

We were disappointed to have left San Francisco, but were soon compensated with the spectacular landscape at Yosemite.  There were granite giants and waterfalls.  Giant sequoia trees and vast meadows.  Squirrels and chipmunks and deer roam stealthily, but freely, in our view.  We even saw a coyote one day, but no the bear.

A real test of endurance, cycling uphill on a tandem bike with Tea, proved I had none.  Tea, though, arrived in good shape and insisted on going on a prolonged ride with her much fitter dad.

Anais decided to undertake a 'sleep project' on our hikes.

The girls were in marshmallow heaven - every evening at 7 sharp, a basket of marshmallows, chocolate bars and biscuits (for making smores: marshmallows and a bar of chocolate sandwiched between two biscuits) magically appeared at the communal outdoor fireplace.

Death Valley next.

  1. Nice weather and darling daughters and wife! I was there with my wife 10 years ago, went hiking to Lake Mirror,,,, (but then it was winter and cold a bit) and had a one night there in Yosemite National Park.
You probably see the wolves, right?
Good to see your smile and I feel all your family enjoy the trip!
